It’s already morning?!?!?!?
Aaahhhh…. It’s 2:29 AM. But that’s what it’s been like lately. It’s been a never-ending cycle of school, work, and practice for this Night of Classics performance tonight. The last few weeks I’ve pulled at least one-allnighter a week. But tonight I’m going to bed, even though I still have homework to finish. I need my sleep.
Anyways, besides being crazy, crazy busy, I’ve had lots of neat stories to share. I went to Hume Lake winter camp last month with my church as a conselour for the Junior High group. And this last Tuesday I spoke at an Alumni Chapel at my old High School.
I wish I had pictures to put up, but it’s late.
However… the next blog, I’ll have a link to a video!! To make a long story short, there was a person on campus who needed a video to be shot for a sermon she was giving, and somehow there were about 10-12 people involved. Once I get that on youtube, I’ll make a link to it.
I can’t believe that it’s already the END of March. It felt like just yesterday when it was the first week of March. Time is flying by way too fast. I’m reorganizing and re-prioritizing my life, so I should have more time for YOU!! and blogging very soon
I hope that you have a blessed week!!! Look soon for a link to the video!

2009!!! Well it’s the start of a new year which means new resolutions, new goals, and most importantly, new ways to have fun!!! So for this blog I will show you how to have fun in the library: (please do not try this in your local library)
A couple of days ago was the national day of “Have Fun in the Library Without Getting in Trouble.” I was hanging out with some friends in the library, chillaxin’, when I saw this big blue air gun. I don’t know the real name for it, but it is one of those cylindrical shaped cones that shoots a big puff of air across the room. So of course after some convincing, I had to go and find a victim. And I did:
Needless to say, that was quite fun. I mean what can I say, I was bored that day!! After that I studied hard from an “I Spy” book. I found almost all of the objects in the picture, but then we had to go. So in honor of the “Have Fun in the Library Without Getting in Trouble” Day, I found a teddy bear and gave him a book to read. Maybe he will inspire passing by students to study hard just like he is!
Hopefully this blog brought a few laughs! It’s always good to start off the new year with a smile.
Christmas Time pt.1; and some brotherly love.
Oh man, this last week has been very hard on me lately. There’s been a lot of family issues going on in my life lately and it’s been hard to get through. I really am thankful for the wing I’m in right now. It couldn’t have worked out any better. Here is a picture of one of our weekly wing meetings.
At our wing meetings we share prayer requests, “family complaints”, wing events, and some spiritual emphasis in our lives. They’ve held my family in prayer the whole year through my family’s struggles and even came all the way to my hometown to show support. I can’t even begin to explain how supportive and a family my wing is to me.
One of our “adopted” wingmate’s surprised my roommate and I by buying and putting up Christmas lights in our room. It looks sooo amazing I don’t want to leave my room anymore!!!
The other day I went out to Lake Jessup and brought a tree branch into our wing and we dressed it up as our “Charlie Brown” Christmas Tree. It looks pretty sweet. The guys also decorated the rest of the wing. The spirit of Christmas is upon us!!
(It’s a Charlie Brown Christmas!!!)
(It was a reindeer, but it lost its antlers)
(The living room area of the wing)
Have yourself a very Merry Christmas!!! There’s more to come!!!
Crazily Amazingly Tired…
Whew!!! Sorry I haven’t written in a couple of weeks. I’ve been going to bed pretty late every night (maybe around 2-ish)… but hey that’s college life!! We had Midterm-Break a week or two ago, so even though we had a break there were the dreaded midterms. I actually have another one this Thursday!!!
I’ve actually discovered something about myself. I learned that I can’t read well in my room, I like to go somewhere else to read. In each of our dorm halls there is a study room upstairs so it has been nice to take advantage of that to focus and read. I know it sounds silly that it has taken me this long to figure that out, but hey sometimes it takes someone longer than others to figure those things out.
The study rooms are also used to hold Bible studies or just to hang out away from the busy life in the dorms. There’s even a balcony to go and sit outside to watch passerby’s or just to enjoy the fresh air.
I’ll try to get some more pictures up soon of life here at WJU!! Have a blessed day!!!
(And don’t forget to turn your clocks this weekend!!!)
Uncategorized | Comment (1)Absolutely Amazingly Awesome Activites for the Average College Student
Wow!!! The last two weeks have gone by so fast. It’s crazy being a college student but it’s a ton of fun!!
So two weeks ago we had a roommate competition between the wings of the different dorms to see “how well you know your roommate.” My roommate and I studied each other the whole week even though we had gone to high school together, but it paid off!! We won, but it was close; we had a tie-breaker round. All in all though it was a lot of fun. It was funny to hear people’s responses to questions like, “What annoys you most about your roommate?” or “If you could describe your roommate with a movie title, which movie would it be…”
Last week was Open Mic Night where anyone can go up and share their talents. It was an amazing night! It was fun to watch people make music, sing, tell jokes and poetry!! There is a lot of talent in the school and it was really cool to see people perform and share their talents with all of us. My roommate and I also played a song I wrote a few weeks ago. We have lead worship together but never performed together in a public venue so it was a good roommate bonding experience.
I’m very exhausted though, but exhausted in a good way.
I will talk to you guys later next week!!
A brand new beginning…
Hey everyone!!!
So uh, I’ll be honest and admit that I’m new to this whole “blogging” thing. I’m not very tech-savy (I’ve crashed a comuter 5 times!!! I know, crazy right?). But I’m willing to give it a go, if you are!!
These past two, no wait, three weeks have gone by so fast!! I remember the night before move-in day I was awake all night, nervous… And now, here I am!!! My mind still hasn’t fully caught up yet from the day I set foot on campus to now, but I’m lovin’ it!!
So I know that some of you may be thinkin’ I’m just sayin’ that ‘cuz I go here and I’m supposed to think it’s the best school ever… well, it’s true!!! I mean seriously, how often do you walk into your wing only to notice that someone’s bed has been replaced by a couch!!!
For the record, I had no part of that prank… But pranks aside, I have really enjoyed the companionship and brotherlyness of my wing. Part of the reason why I took so long to get my post up, was I had some family issues in my life… but even though I can’t be with my family as often, my brothers in my wing are praying. We got each others back!!
================================================================
Last weekend we all started the day early, around 7:50 early (which is early for any college student on the weekend…) to go and help a local school with landscaping.
It was like a mini-”Extreme Home Makeover”!!! There were people from the community and their school who came to help out. Digging, pulling weeds, planting new plants, etc… we went to work. There were little kids helping us out too!! I saw kids armed with rakes and wheelbarrows and shovels.
We started about 8′ish in the morning were there until about 2′ish in the afternoon. It was definitely worth it though. I cannot say how excited and how much I value and appreciate each of the guys in my wing. We’re like family and doing the service project helped to reinforce the brotherly bonds.
At the end of the day, we had one very beautiful elementary school, and one very tired but very proud wing!! I can honestly say that all of us were very blessed to have blessed their school. It’s funny how that works, isn’t it? We can go and try to serve someone else, and God ends up blessing us through our service!!
If I had to sum up everything I just said in a nutshell, I would say that the biggest aspect of college life I love the most, are the friendships and bonds formed. I found out recently that our particular wing has had a history in the past of, well let’s just say everyone did their own thing and there wasn’t much interaction. But our wing this year is quite the contrary!! We’re forming those bonds, brotherly bonds…
